Avaliação de inulina e probiótico para frangos de corte - doi: 10.4025/actascianimsci.v33i1.9979 Animal Sciences
Silva, Wagner Thiago Mozer da; Universidade Estadual do Oeste do Paraná - UNIOESTE; Nunes, Ricardo Vianna; Universidade Estadual do Oeste do Paraná - UNIOESTE; Pozza, Paulo Cesar; Universidade Estadual do Oeste do Paraná - UNIOESTE; Pozza, Magali Soares dos Santos; Universidade Estadual do Oeste do Paraná - UNIOESTE; Appelt, Matias Djalma; UFPR; Eyng, Cinthia; UEM.

Comparative Effect of The Inclusion of Zootechnical Additives in the Feed of Japanese Quails in Two Productive Phases Anais da ABC (AABC)
LEMOS,MARINA J.; CALIXTO,LÍGIA F.L.; SOUZA,DANIELE S.; REIS,TÚLIO L.; NASCIMENTO,APARECIDA A.; OLIVEIRA,CARLOS A..
Abstract This study aimed to evaluate the intestinal morphology, performance and financial analysis of the inclusion of additives in the feed during the productive period of 360 Japanese quails distributed in a completely randomized design in a split plot scheme in time with five treatments and eight repetitions of nine birds each. The treatments were: control, antibiotic, prebiotic, probiotic and synbiotic. The variables were: height, width and width/height ratio of the villi, crypt depth and villus/crypt ratio, feed intake, egg production, egg weight average, egg mass, feed conversion per mass and per dozen eggs and viability, internal rate of return, net present value and cost benefit. The additives in the feed increased height and width of the villi,...

Effects of the Dietary Inclusion of a Probiotic, a Prebiotic or their Combinations on the Growth Performance of Broiler Chickens Rev. Bras. Ciênc. Avic.
Murshed,MA; Abudabos,AM.
ABSTRACT A total of 350-one-day old chicks were placed in 70 cages, with 14 cages per treatment. The following five treatment diets were fed for 14 days: T1 = non-supplemented, control diet (CONT); T2 = diet with antimicrobial growth promoter (AGP); T3 = diet with a probiotic (PROB); T4 = diet with a prebiotic(PREB), and T5 = diet with the probiotic and the prebiotic (SYM). The growth experiment was carried out from 1 to 14 days of age. Feed and water were provided ad libitum and birds were maintained at 24-h light schedule. Diets were formulated to contain 3000 kcalME/kg and 21.5% crude protein, and the test materials were added on top. The cumulative results of1 to 14 days of age revealed that broiler fed the AGP and PREB diets presented the highest BWG...

Endophytes: exploitation as a tool in plant protection BABT
Dutta,Devanushi; Puzari,Keshab Chandra; Gogoi,Robin; Dutta,Pranab.
Endophytes are symptomless fungal or bacterial microorganisms found in almost all living plant species reported so far. They are the plant-associated microbes that form symbiotic association with their host plants by colonizing the internal tissues, which has made them valuable for agriculture as a tool in improving crop performance. Many fungal endophytes produce secondary metabolites such as auxin, gibberellin etc that helps in growth and development of the host plant. Some of these compounds are antibiotics having antifungal, antibacterial and insecticidal properties, which strongly inhibit the growth of other microorganisms, including plant pathogens. This article reviews the endophyte isolated from different plants, mode of endophytic infection and...

Probiotic and prebiotic utilization in diets for free-range broiler chickens Rev. Bras. Ciênc. Avic.
Pelícia,K; Mendes,AA; Saldanha,ESPB; Pizzolante,CC; Takahashi,SE; Garcia,RG; Moreira,J; Paz,ICLA; Quinteiro,RR; Komiyama,CM.
This work aimed to evaluate the effects of probiotic associated to prebiotic on performance, carcass and cut yields, qualitative traits of meat, development and score of lesions due to coccidiosis in digestive tract of broiler chickens raised in a free-range system during 85 days. One thousand, six hundred and ninety-six day-old male broiler chicks from naked-neck ISA S757-N Label Rouge line were used in a randomized block design with factorial scheme of 4x2 and four repetitions. The effect of four additive (1 - biologic promoter + coccidiosis vaccine; 2 - biologic promoter + anti-coccidiosis; 3 - chemical promoter + coccidiosis vaccine; 4 - chemical promoter + anti-coccidiosis) and two breeding systems from 35th day of age (one with no-access to pasture...
